Today we’re introducing you to Steve, who manages our Omaha Veteran’s Campus, a space dedicated to helping U.S. Veterans find housing solutions and support. Our Omaha campus contains 26 transitional apartments and 14 permanent-supportive apartments, and the veteran-specific facility is the only one of its kind in the area.
Steve is our Omaha Campus Director, and served in US Air Force for 18 years. Steve says that he loves giving Veterans a space and a place to heal, as well as giving them the necessary tools to move forward in their journey. “This is the best job I’ve ever had,” Steve says. “I love helping people, and I look forward to coming to work every day.”
Steve assists our entire organization with computers and technology, and he considers computer work to be one of his favorite pastimes. “When I can show someone how to use technology, it often opens up a whole new world for them. It gives people a level of independence that equips them and gives them access to valuable resources.” In this and many other ways, Steve truly changes the trajectory of people’s lives through his leadership and relationships at New Visions.
Steve’s free time is spent tinkering with computers and enjoying time with his 14 grandkids. Steve’s heart for seeing Veterans succeed is a true gift to New Visions, and we’re so grateful to have him on our team.
